Definition, meaning, and explanation of

MCI (Multi Country Inventory)

Amazon Multi-Country Inventory is offered to sellers on Amazon’s fulfillment by Amazon platform in the European Union (EU).

MCI Amazon allows merchants/sellers to select certain countries where they wish to send their products and have Amazon warehouses fulfill the subsequent orders locally. With Amazon MCI, sellers can ship their orders to multiple countries across Europe.

It offers faster delivery in multiple locations and reduces the shipping costs massively for the sellers through bulk shipments from local marketplaces.

Key Challenges with Amazon MCI

  • Leads to higher fees charged by Amazon from Sellers
  • Slower inventory velocity with liquidity concerns
  • Frequent stockouts leading to loss of inventory control
